Brothers Alex and Chris Kinjo give this slick, L.A.-type spot energy and attitude, but it's the down-to-earth quality of ingredients and straightforward creativity of Chris "Magic Fingers" as sushi chef that have made this sushi bar a destination. From the crispness of the nori wrapped around a hand roll with crispy salmon skin to the glorious freshness of something as outdated as a rainbow roll, nowhere is there a more palpable sense of quality to sushi in Atlanta. There's loads of creativity on the menu, but don't overlook simple classics like ume shiso (the plum paste is fresh and mouth puckering), sunomono pickles and the simplicity of a salad dressed in bright-tasting ginger dressing to get away from fish and rice for a moment. Lunch: 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Mondays-Fridays. Dinner: 5:30-10:30 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays; 5:30-11:30 p.m. Fridays-Saturdays; 6-10 p.m. Sundays. $$$.
